Beacham McDougald is the great grandson of M. A. McDougald, founder of McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium. He attended East Carolina University, St. Andrews Presbyterian College, Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science and received his funeral service license in 1975 and Certified Funeral Service Practitioner from the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice in 1993. He is married to the former Lynn Hannah, and they are parents to adopted 26 year-old twins, Hannah and Michael, and have just adopted their 5 year-old granddaughter, Elizabeth. His hobbies include bicycling, woodworking, and writing. He is an active member of the First United Methodist Church, the Laurinburg Rotary Club, vice chair of the Scotland County Highland Games, serves on the Scotland County Historical Properties Commission, the Scotland County Tourism Development Authority, is founder and current liaison of the Laurinburg-Oban Student Exchange, and serves in several other community functions.
Lynn McDougald is a native of Anson County, North Carolina and has been a residence of Laurinburg since the age of 5. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke and taught primary grades in the Scotland County Schools for 20 years. She is married to Beacham McDougald, and they are parents of adopted twins, Michael and Hannah. Lynn enjoys cooking and home crafts and is a member of the Choir at the First United Methodist Church. She has also received training through Life Appreciation Training, the Grief Recovery Institute, and the Center for Loss and Life Transition. She is the aftercare coordinator for McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
Steven Wilkes is a native of Scotland County and currently lived in Laurel Hill. He is the son of Linda Smith and Keith Wilkes, and the grandson of Bobby and Shirley Wilkes and Carolyn and the late Tom Norton. He is a 2004 graduate of Scotland High School. Steven has been involved in funeral service since the age of 17, and thoroughly enjoys it. He will be a December 2008 graduate of Fayetteville Technical Community College Funeral Service Program. Steven loves the outdoors and enjoys hunting and fishing.
