Leslie Frank Eason, Jr., 86 of Laurinburg, died Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Morrison Manor.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 8, 2018 at the Morris Morgan Center, Scotia Village officiated by the Rev. Linda Nelson and the Rev. Dr. Terry Hunt. A private family burial will precede the memorial service.
He is survived by his son, L.F. Eason, III and wife, Cathy of Cary; three brothers, Elwood Eason and wife, Barbara of Union, SC, Robert Eason and wife, Lea of Morehead City, and Paul Eason, of Albemarle; two grandchildren, Kevin Eason and Laura Eason.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Betty Lewis Eason.
Born December 6, 1931 in Greene County, he was a son of the late Leslie Frank and Della Paul Eason. A member of the First United Methodist Church, he was a member of the Methodist Men, taught Sunday school, and helped with the church food bank. He was active in the Sandhills Emmaus Community, was on the Church and Community Service Board for 16 years and a recipient of the Order of the Long Leaf Pine. He worked as a Probation Parole Supervisor for the NC Department of Corrections for Richmond, Scotland and Hoke counties for 33 years.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested for the First United Methodist Church, 101 W. Church St., Laurinburg, NC 28352 or the Scotia Foundation, c/o Scotia Village, 2200 Elm Avenue, Laurinburg, NC 28352.
